Laivajukke Dry-Fly Land
I'm looking at our pilot. He smiles and I can see how his eyes finding a focus on the horizon further to the left of my position while at the same time making a strong turn. We are now facing straight towards the cliff we have been flying next to for a couple of hundred meters. I can here the passengers behind me screaming just like they did when we took off. They had never been in a helicopter before and their eyes told me they had enjoyed the ride. Until now! It wasn't lon

The terrible day that turned into 75 cm Sea Trout on fly
This is the largest sea trout I have caught this season and I feel very pleased to finally been able to hold a fish like this because I have been so unlucky when getting hooked up with a big fish the last 1,5 years. When landing a fish this size you get many questions in subjects like: Where did you catch it? How far out did it take? What fly did you use? and so on. So I thought I'll write about all the facts about the fish down below combined with some pictures I yet haven't

Mulkkis - The pink shrimp
One of those unique flies for Seatrout fishing, this pink carrot looking fly can be really effective sometimes. The shape is something you can cut down yourself. It is a Finnish style fly that is very popular in our neighbor country and something they use to bring with a lot of confident when they travel to us at FishYourDream- Gotland. Here is @tapanihen with a seatrout caught on Mulkkis last week. He counted down the depth with the Vision Kust line for 15 seconds before sta

XO Flyrod
The next step is taken in the high-end range of rods. The XO rod from Vision is the best rod I have ever used. It is light in the hand. The action is fast but bends deep. Dampens very quickly leaving your line and your casting no disturbance. You can really see this when studying the line in the air. I have the 9’6 foot seven weight rod. I have received questions as soon as I post a picture of this new rod. This is the longest rod I have on the coast and something extra ordin

Magic Head-Fly for Night Fishing
Here is a useful pattern when night fishing for big trout in Ammarnäs or Tjuonajokk. I think it is a bit odd compared to what most people fish with in rivers. My favorite way to fish this fly is in a deep and slow pool. Preferably with a floating or slow intermediate line in late August, when the nights turn really dark. The aggressive movement of the fly will be a very visible silhouette towards the sky. This fish above is caught in Ammarnäs the summer 2015. I am so happy wh

Hot-Orange Shrimp
If you like to have a large winter fly this can be something for you! I like to have at least one a bit larger fly on the leader and this has been working good since I tied a bunch of these late last year. The inspiration to tie these came when I found a small piece of spey hackle in a Fly Tier's Variety Pack I bought. The fly is pretty much tied like the fly pattegrisen, so if you haven't tried tying a shrimp similar to this before you can here watch a video of how it is mad

Alive fish on the wall? C&R replica
I just found out how easy this is so I had to share it with you! I got this question from a guest that is planing to come in the future. Is it possible to do a catch and release replica of a fish? I had to look further into that... There is nothing in my work that bets making a fishing dream come true! I have the pleasure to be guiding on places with some of the largest growing fish of its species. The Ammarnäs trout is one of them, big and spooky brown trout in small rivers,
